Today, Google announced that in two days, the Android engineering team will be holding a Reddit AMA (Ask Me Anything) session to discuss the next version of the OS, Android O. The team notes that "we want to keep the conversation focused strictly on the engineering of the platform."
Of course, there"s an elephant in the room with this one, as you can see from the very first comment on the thread. Google still hasn"t told us the name of Android O yet, so unless the company announces it between now and then, this is undoubtedly going to be a very common question in the AMA. It"s worth noting that Nougat was announced at the end of June last year, and Marshmallow was in August the previous year.
Questions should be kept to "technical questions related to the latest features specifically in Android O -- from the APIs and SDK." If you want to check it out on Reddit, you"ll find it here, but it doesn"t kick off until Wednesday at noon Pacific Time.
The company also noted that there will be another developer preview available soon, followed by the public release later on this summer.
