Last year, Google opened up beta testing for Android P to third-party OEMs for the first time, bringing it to seven additional OEMs and a total of 11 devices. This year, the company is going further, and the latest Android Q beta now includes a total of 12 brands, in addition to Google"s own, making for a total of 21 devices with the beta.
This year, many of last year"s participating brands are making a return, including Nokia, OPPO, OnePlus, and Xiaomi, but many more are joining in. Huawei, LG, and ASUS are a few of the companies hopping into the beta program for Android Q. Here are the phones that can get the latest Android Q beta, which surprisingly still include the 2017 Essential Phone that shipped with Android Nougat:
Asus Zenfone 5Z | realme 3 Pro | Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 5G |
Essential Phone | Sony Xperia XZ3 | Pixel 3 |
LG G8 | TECNO SPARK 3 Pro | Pixel 3 XL |
Huawei Mate 20 Pro | Vivo X27 | Pixel 2 |
Nokia 8.1 | Vivo NEX S | Pixel 2 XL |
OnePlus 6T | Vivo NEX A | Pixel |
OPPO Reno | Xiaomi Mi 9 | Pixel XL |
Google also introduced many new features for Android Q at today"s presentation. These include the long-awaited dark mode, support for foldable devices, and more. What we still don"t know, as usual, is what this version of Android will end up being called.
Android Q should be available for the general public later this year, towards the end of the summer.
Update: The post has been updated to include the full list of phones that are compatible with the Android Q beta.
