The Burgundy and Cobalt Blue Surface Laptops with Core i7 are now available... kind of

When Microsoft first launched its Surface Laptop in four colors, three of them were only available in one configuration (and only in the US): Core i5, 8GB RAM, and 256GB of storage. Those models are now available for pre-order in other regions, but almost a month ago, it was spotted that in the US, those colors were listed as coming soon with a Core i7, 16GB RAM, and 512GB of storage.

While the company promised that it would announce these new models when they were available, it never did, but nevertheless, the Burgundy and Cobalt Blue variants are now available from the Microsoft Store. Oddly though, you can only purchase them from the Surface Laptop overview page, and they"re still marked as unavailable when you try to configure one from the listing on the Microsoft Store.

Still, if you add one to your cart from the overview page, it will say that the device ships in three to seven business days. This is still a bit peculiar, as the Core i5 models currently say that they won"t ship until September 30. The Graphite Gold variant still says that it"s coming soon.

Obviously, with just two of the three new models available and the Microsoft Store showing them as not existing at all, this could be an error. In other words, if you want to get your order in, you should do it now. The new Burgundy and Cobalt Blue Surface Laptops come with a Core i7, Intel Iris Plus Graphics 640, 16GB RAM, and 512GB of storage for $2,199.
