The Division 2 will start dropping its DLC content starting this summer in the form of 3 episodes, all available at no additional cost for players of the game.
Episode 1 is called D.C. Outskirts: Expeditions and will be landing in July. This will be the first time you"ll be able to play outside of Washington D.C. itself and will feature a new type of gameplay involving detective work of some kind as you seek to "uncover the fate of a military convoy gone dark."
Episode 2, Pentagon: The Last Castle, will then be released in the Fall and takes place in and around, as the title suggests, the Pentagon. Once the bastion of the U.S." military might, the iconic building is now derelict and players will be charged with the mission of keeping its secrets safe from unscrupulous actors. The second episode is also where we"ll see a new eight-player raid for the game.
The last episode, set to come out in early 2020, will then see players returning to New York on a manhunt, as they pursue Aaron Keener, the rogue Division agent who betrayed the organization in the first game.
The new episodes will also introduce three new specializations within the game (presumably one per episode). Year 1 Pass owners will be able to access these as soon as they are released, and will also have access to each episode seven days before they are officially launched.
Ubisoft also announced at its E3 showcase earlier today that The Division 2 will be free to play for this week, from June 13 to June 16, so if you"d like to test the waters before you buy the game, now"s the time to do it.
