While The Elder Scrolls VI teaser that landed today should have fans trying to enter comas until its release, there is an Elder Scrolls experience coming out later this year to make the wait a bit more tolerable. As Bethesda announced during its E3 presentation, The Elder Scrolls: Blades is a full-fledged RPG made specifically for mobile audiences. The game will be playable in landscape and portrait modes featuring "console-quality graphics."
Players will be taking the role of an exiled Blades member who returns to their hometown to find it in ruins, and the game"s main objective is essentially to rebuild it. NPCs in this town are the ones that will offer players quests, with more NPCs moving in as the town gets rebuilt.
Two other game modes were revealed as well: Arena, where duels can be initiated with other real-life players, and the Abyss, a rogue-like experience that gives players an unending dungeon to go through.
The Elder Scrolls: Blades will be available on iOS and Android this fall as a free-to-play title, and interested parties may go to its official website to sign up for early access. While it is a mobile experience for now, Blades will be heading to other platforms in the future, including PC, consoles, as well as VR, and cross-play is a planned feature.
