Back in December, it was reported that Google would launch two smartwatches alongside Android Wear 2.0, which is to launch in February. They would be OEM-branded (so no Pixel, Watch by Google), and the only clue that we had was that it"s a company that has made Android Wear devices before.
According to a new report from VentureBeat, that OEM will be LG. The two smartwatches will be called the Watch Sport and the Watch Style, and the two firms will announce them on February 9.
Out of the two, the flagship will be the Watch Sport. Coming in at 14.2mm thick, it will have a 1.38-inch OLED display with a 480x480 resolution, along with 768MB RAM and 4GB of storage. Coming with a 430mAh battery, it will also be the only one of the two to have LTE cellular connectivity.
As for the Watch Style, it will be thinner at 10.8mm, but the display will be 1.2-inch OLED and 360x360. RAM and battery are also less at 512MB and 240mAh, but the 4GB storage is the same. Information on chipsets isn"t available.
According to the report, both devices should have support for Google Assistant, which could be helpful to those that want it, as it"s not available in many handsets.
