Samsung is reportedly planning on upping the imaging ante with the next iteration of its flagship phablet, a new report from SamMobile claims. Unfortunately, the report did not provide too many details about the specifics of the quad-lens setup on this upcoming smartphone from the South Korean titan of technology.
The device in question, which is designated as SM-N975F internally, is likely the Note10, according to SamMobile"s speculation. While Note models normally end with a 0, the site opines that the change in nomenclature may be a reference that the 5G model of the phone will feature this quad-camera setup, much like 5G variant of the S10 being the only phone in the lineup to feature a quad-lens configuration, with a time of flight, depth sensing lens adding to the count compared to the normally triple-camera S10.
The company tends to keep the camera setups generally unchanged between the Galaxy S and Galaxy Note series, as it did with the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy Note9, so it"s more than likely that the 12MP standard lens with a variable aperture, the 13MP zoom lens and the 16MP wide-angle lens found on the S10 will feature on the Note10 as well.
The report also refers to recent speculation regarding the company"s plans for a rebranding of its flagship lineup, including both the Galaxy S and Galaxy Note series. So, the phone in question may not be called "Note10" when it comes out later this year. And there"s still some time go until August, when Samsung normally unveils its Note handsets, so things could well change between now and then; a healthy sprinkling of salt is recommended when interfacing with these reports, even though SamMobile does have an excellent track record when it comes to sourcing Samsung news.
