January was a rough month if you"re a fan of Microsoft"s Lumia line of Windows phones. It started with the unlocked 650 and Verizon Lumia 735 being removed from the US Microsoft Store, and then Cricket stopped selling the 650 as well. In fact, Cricket Wireless also dropped the Lumia 640, making the almost three-year-old Nokia Lumia 635 the only Windows handset sold by the AT&T-owned carrier.
The company also took down the AT&T-locked Lumia 640 XL, while leaving the unlocked model listed, despite it having been sold out for some time. AT&T even stopped selling the Lumia 950, while still offering refurbished models.
But while January has been a rough month, it would appear that February is to be much better, as almost everything mentioned above that applied to the Microsoft Store is no longer true. Listings have been added back for both the Lumia 640 XL and the Lumia 650, and the Acer Liquid Jade Primo is back as well.
But that"s not all. Microsoft had also removed certain colors of phones, offering the AT&T-locked Lumia 950 in only white, and the 950 XL in only black. Those handsets are now available in both colors again.
And to top it all off, all of these handsets are in stock right now. The only Windows phone that"s listed on the Microsoft Store that"s out of stock is the unlocked Lumia 640 XL, and that seems to have been forgotten about, as it"s not even shown on the "All Windows phones" page. Also, the only listing that was removed and hasn"t returned is the Verizon Wireless Lumia 735, and luckily, you can still get that from Verizon"s website.
Here are all of the Windows phones that you can get from the US Microsoft Store right now:
- Microsoft Lumia 550 ($139)
- AT&T Microsoft Lumia 640 XL ($99)
- Microsoft Lumia 650 Dual SIM ($199)
- AT&T Microsoft Lumia 950 ($298.99)
- Unlocked Microsoft Lumia 950 ($399)
- Microsoft Lumia 950 XL ($499)
- Acer Liquid Jade Primo Bundle ($449)
- Acer Liquid M330 ($99)
- Blu Win Jr LTE ($99)
- Blu Win HD LTE ($149)
- HP Elite x3 ($799)
- HP Elite x3 + Lap Dock Bundle ($1298)
- Alcatel IDOL 4S with Windows ($470)
Today"s news is unexpected, as the only Lumia handset that"s less than a year old is the 650, and that won"t even be true in two weeks. In fact, the Lumia 640 XL will be two years old in March. It"s clear that Microsoft will soon be phasing out the Lumia brand, but the company must have found some more stock to sell off.
