One of the biggest attractions of the Galaxy lineup, until recently, was the ability to remove the battery. For those on the go for long periods, or those whose phones" batteries might be past their prime, the ability to remove and swap your battery is an extremely useful and handy feature. Unfortunately, most smartphones manufacturers are now moving away from a removable back plate design on their premium flagships in order to reduce the thickness of their phones.

A leak from the renowned Steve Hemmerstoffer (aka @OnLeaks) shows Microsoft"s upcoming Lumia 950 XL flagship with its back cover removed and an exposed 3340 mAh battery. The device does seem to be the Lumia 950 XL based on what we"ve seen from other leaked images and, if true, this could prove to be a major selling point and would mark the 950 XL as one of the very few remaining flagships with a removable battery.
We"ll learn more at Microsoft"s event tomorrow, where the company is expected to refresh most of its hardware lineup.
