There"s been no end of rumors about the upcoming Nokia 8 in recent weeks, including leaked images of the device. The new high-end handset will be the first device from HMD Global to feature ZEISS optics since the two companies announced an exclusive partnership earlier this month, promising "the ultimate imaging experience".
Following much speculation about when the new device would launch, we now know for sure. HMD has begun sending out media invites to an event on August 16 in London, where the Nokia 8 will be officially unveiled.
The new flagship is expected to feature a Snapdragon 835 processor, with up to 6GB of RAM, 64GB of storage, and a 5.3-inch display with Quad HD (2560x1440px) resolution. You"ll also get dual 13MP rear cameras, and a built-in fingerprint sensor. In addition to the Nokia 8 being offered in copper gold, the device should also be available in blue, as seen above, and in silver.
Meanwhile, a recent video from HMD showed a drawing of an unannounced device with ultra-slim bezels and a display with curved corners, similar to the LG G6. The brief glimpse of that sketch raised hopes among many that HMD might be a working on another, more "innovative" flagship.
