The upcoming Dragon Age game that BioWare has been quietly developing received its first official trailer today during The Game Awards, giving fans of the fantasy series a look at how the world is evolving past the events in the original trilogy. Much like in the small teasers the game has received in recent years, this entry doesn"t seem to have a proper name attached to it yet, as BioWare introduces it simply as "The Next Dragon Age".
The Varric-narrated cinematic trailer shows off several locations, Darkspawn, and Solas, who seems to be the main villain this time. "The world of Dragon Age needs a new hero – someone who can take on the evil forces threatening Thedas," adds the trailer description.
Much like its name, this Dragon Age entry does not have a launch window attached to it yet. Considering the title is probably some time away from even getting a gameplay reveal, It is likely coming to PC and next-gen consoles.
BioWare has recently seen a couple of studio heads leave the company, with its general manager Casey Hudson and Dragon Age executive producer Mark Darrah exiting. However, EA has said the studio"s multiple active projects, including a new Mass Effect, are progressing without any changes.
