In 2016, Nintendo made the unprecedented move of releasing a miniaturized version of its Nintendo Entertainment System, which included 30 games in the console itself. The games included some enhancements, such as permanent save points and improved display output.
The system was a significant success, which led to the announcement of a "Classic Edition" of another system from Nintendo, the SNES. However, the demand seemed to outpace the supply, and some fans may have been dismayed when the company announced that the system would be discontinued last year.
A couple of weeks ago, following a promise made towards the end of 2017, Nintendo announced that the NES Classic Edition will be available once again, and customers will be able to get their hands on one from June 29.
And now it is possible to preorder for £49.99 via Amazon. If you are planning to preorder at this low price, do ensure you are buying from Amazon UK and not another retailer, which has them listed up to and beyond £119!
Since they will not ship until June 29, if you"re shipping to the US and you"re a Prime user, you"ll only pay around $65 all told.
