HMD Global today announced U.S. availability of the Nokia 2.3. The entry-level handset can be pre-ordered from Best Buy today starting at $129, and you"ll be able to pre-order it from Amazon starting next week.
Powered by a MediaTek MT6761 Helio A22 chipset with four Cortex-A53 cores, it has 2GB RAM and 32GB storage, but the focus is on the dual-lens camera. The main sensor is 13MP, and there"s a 2MP depth sensor, so it has portrait mode, which is a solid feature for a $129 smartphone. It"s an Android One handset, meaning that there"s no bloatware, so you can edit the blur on portrait mode photos in Google Photos. It also has Nokia"s Recommended Shot feature, which takes pictures before and after you hit the shutter button, allowing you to pick the best image from an action shot.
The screen is 6.2 inches with 720x1520 resolution and a 19:9 aspect ratio. HMD also says that it gets two days of battery life, using AI to learn how you use your device and adjust it accordingly. It also has a 4,000mAh battery, which helps.
The Nokia 2.3 is available for pre-sale today at Best Buy, with Amazon pre-orders coming next week, and HMD says that the handset will ship "very soon".
