The Nokia 8 allegedly not coming to the U.S.

It was only a couple months ago when Nokia announced the release of its latest handset, the Nokia 8. The firm has been producing and releasing handsets at a feverish pace this year but has not managed to officially offer its goods to many parts of the world. This now seems to be the case for the company"s current top-end model, as it might not make it to the United States.

According to an email response from Rex Fryhover, who is Head of Operations for HMD Global US, sent to a reader of Nokiapoweruser, the Nokia 8 will not be coming to the U.S. due to it not offering the proper band support. This issue can also be found on its previous handsets, and was more recently the reason why the Nokia 3310 initially did not receive a more global release.

All of this, of course, relies on the accuracy of the email that was sourced by the website. In the past we have seen the Nokia 8 pass through the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), certifying its operation in the U.S. So this news does seem a bit odd, but we will have to be patient and hope for the best.
