NVIDIA CEO Jen-Hsun Huang needs to pray harder to the "Outlook God"
It was by far one of the funniest things we have heard from the CEO of a tech company in a long time. We are speaking of NVIDIA"s leader Jen-Hsun Huang in a conference call with financial analysts on Tuesday when he flat out started praying to the "Outlook God" for a Outlook email client for Windows RT.
While he also admitted in the same conference call to be disappointed in the sales of Windows RT products (NVIDIA"s Tegra 3 processor is inside Microsoft"s Surface RT tablet), Huang seems desperate for Outlook to appear on Windows RT, saying:
It would make my life complete. My life would be complete. I don"t know about you guys but I would need nothing else. I am one Outlook away from computing nirvana and I just hoping he is listening now. Outlook God, please.
So, is the Outlook God (i.e. the Outlook team at Microsoft) working on such a Windows RT port? While there have been rumors that such a project is indeed in the works, the company has not yet revealed any such plans publicly. When Neowin emailed Microsoft for a comment on Huang"s statements, we were told by a Microsoft spokesperson, "We have nothing further to share or add here."
We are pretty sure that Huang is not the only one wanting an Outlook client on Windows RT. In fact, it seems like a no-brainer. Hopefully, Huang"s influence as the CEO of one of Microsoft"s Surface hardware partners will make the Outlook Windows RT port a reality.
