The final major Steam sale of the year is upon us, with the store opening the doors to its Winter Sale, bringing along thousands of discounted PC games, apps, and more. The store is currently getting hammered with people trying to access the sales, so be prepared to see prices fluctuate for the next hour or so.
For those who have been holding out for a big Steam sale to get their wishlists shortened, this is the ideal time to do so. Some highlights include Dark Souls III for 75% off, Middle-earth: Shadow of War for 30% off, and Assassin"s Creed Origins also for 30% off.
The nominees for the Steam Awards that were selected from last month"s Steam Autumn Sale are also now available for Steam users to vote on. There are numerous colorful categories to choose from, such as the “Mom"s Spaghetti” award, “The World Is Grim Enough Let"s Just All Get Along” award, the “Defies Description” award, and more. The nominated games range from extremely popular titles such as PlayerUnknown"s Battlegrounds to sleeper hits like Doki Doki Literature Club.
Each category will be open to voting for 24 hours, starting from December 21 to January 2, with the winners being unveiled on January 3. "Steam Awards Trading Cards" will be given to those who vote, for their troubles.
The Steam Winter Sale will close its doors on January 4, giving everyone whole two weeks to make their holiday purchasing decisions. Steam isn"t the only PC gaming store holding Winter sales, so be sure to tune in to our "Weekend PC Game Deals" feature this Saturday to get an overview of where to find the best holiday discounts.
