The Meta Quest Gaming Showcase ended a few minutes ago after revealing new games and trailers for VR experiences like Saints & Sinners Chapter 2, a Boneworks sequel, and Among Us VR, but Mark Zuckerberg had a "one last thing" announcement, which turned out to be a Ghostbusters game. Grab a proton pack and catch the teaser trailer above.
Currently titled Ghostbusters VR while in development, the project is a cooperative adventure game where up to four players will be solving a new mystery in the Ghostbusters universe while also taking down plenty of ghosts across San Francisco.
nDreams is developing the title in collaboration with Sony Pictures Virtual Reality and Ghostbusters franchise owner Ghost Corps.
“With Sony Pictures VR, we’ve found the perfect teammates to help bring a boundary-pushing multiplayer game to virtual reality,” says nDreams chief development officer Tomas Gillo. “Our close collaboration with the creators of the Ghostbusters franchise at Ghost Corps, combined with our extensive experience creating rich, tactile, and immersive VR, will blow gamers and Ghostbusters fans away.”
Ghostbusters VR is a Quest 2 exclusive title with no mention of a PC VR release, at least for now. There isn"t a release date or window attached to the project yet, but nDreams has promised more details about the ghost busting experience, and maybe even the official name, in the coming months.
