The Forza series has for many years been the de facto standard when it comes to racing games, setting the bar every year for other developers to follow. At this year"s E3, Turn10 officially announced that the series will feature 4K 60fps gameplay on the upcoming Xbox One X, and on top of that, it will include 4K assets.
To date, quantifying what 4K assets actually means was pretty difficult, mainly due to the fact that it"s not something you will always notice right away on displays with a resolution lower than 4K, as Digital Foundry explained in this video. Well, Turn10 have given us one of the clearest examples of this thanks to an image on their website showing the interior of the Lamborghini Centenario, which featured as the cover car for last year"s blockbuster hit Forza Horizon 3.
The car as pictured, shows painstakingly detailed assets, to the point where the light scatters around the materials used on the steering wheel and dashboard. A user on Twitter compared this to the previous installment, Forza Motorsport 6, which only displayed in 1080p:
We are seeing a huge difference between #Forza6 V #Forza7 here!! pic.twitter.com/1v5ofrHLwx
