While there are plenty of award shows that celebrate the good work being done by those in television and film, there really isn"t much in terms of the gaming community. Back in the day, the Spike Video Game Awards filled this hole, but became more about the event rather than celebrating the gaming industry. Geoff Keighley, who worked on the Spike Video Game Awards, decided it was time to create something more pure and started The Game Awards in 2014.
Tonight, the award show returns, ready to celebrate and recognize some of the best in the industry. If you"re local to Los Angeles, you can actually purchase a ticket to attend the show, but if you"re from out of town or even out of the country, you"ll be happy to know that the event will be streamed on many platforms starting at 5:30pm PT. This year, the show will be streamed via a wide variety of services, all of which have been linked below.
If you"re a console owner, you can also catch the show on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Those that are from out of the country will also be able to find the stream on Tencent, NicoNico, kakaoTV, AfreecaTV, UOL Jogos, and Igromania.
