Drones have become more popular over the past few years and while they used to be quite cumbersome, DJI has managed to shrink the footprint quite a bit with its Mavic Pro and Spark offerings. The firm is once again attempting to improve the experience with its upcoming and yet unannounced, Mavic Air.
While DJI has been touting its event tomorrow, it looks like a new set of images has leaked, showing off a drone that could make an appearance at the event. Like the popular Mavic Pro, the new Mavic Air will have folding arms that should make it a compact carry. It will also have a three-way gimbal for buttery smooth videos, obstacle avoidance sensors for better flights, and gesture controls. The drone will also have a 1/2.3 CMOS sensor, will shoot 4K video at 60 frames per second, and also have a flight time of 21 minutes.
Although the drone will surely be an impressive piece, what will really set it apart from its predecessors and competition will be its price. If everything aligns properly, this could be the one that brings drones to a much wider audience.
