This month's Switch Online NES titles arrive next week, includes Punch-Out!!

A new month is upon us, which means it"s almost time for Nintendo to add some new games to its collection of Nintendo Entertainment System titles on the Nintendo Switch. Unlike the past few months, Nintendo Switch Online subscribers are actually getting three new titles instead of just two.

Possibly the most interesting of the bunch is Punch-out!!, a well-known boxing game where you play as Little Mac, fighting a series of opponents until you eventually reach Mr. Dream. This is actually an altered version of the original title, which featured Mike Tyson. That initial release was eventually pulled back due to controversy surrounding the boxer, so we get Mr. Dream instead.

Another significant addition is Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels, which was known as Super Mario Bros. 2 in Japan. You may recall that Super Mario Bros. 2 arrived to the Switch Online service in February, but that international release is actually based on a game called Doki Doki Panic, because the original Japanese version of Super Mario Bros. 2 was considered too difficult for the western audience. The game was eventually brought overseas under the name The Lost Levels.

Lastly, there"s Star Soldier, a top-down shooter similar to Twinbee, Gradius, and many others. You control a spaceship in outer space and try to shoot down as many enemies as possible.

If you"re interested in any of these titles, they"ll be available next week on April 10. It"s possible that Nintendo will include a special edition of some previously released titles, as it has done in the past, but those usually aren"t revealed prior to the launch date.
