This Ryzen Mini PC claims it'll be the "Strongest Mini PC Ever"

Morefine, a little-known Chinese firm that has in the past built a few tiny computers like mini PCs and stick PCs, is claiming to develop the "Strongest Mini PC Ever". The model is called the S500+ and it is currently listed on Indiegogo"s website for people who may be interested in backing the creation of such a computer. Though it must be noted here that this is a crowdfunding campaign so the end product may ultimately never materialize.

With that out of the way, let"s see what this Mini PC promises to offer. As is evident from the name, the S500+ appears to be an upgrade over the firm"s currently available S500 Mini PC. The new S500+ will apparently be powered by a Zen 3-based octa-core Ryzen 9 5900HX mobile processor.

The 5900HX is one of the most powerful SKUs in AMD"s Ryzen 5000 (codenamed "Cezanne") mobile CPU lineup and since it"s an "HX" model, the TDP on the chip may go beyond 45W on the S500+. And that would depend on the cooling too which we discuss later. Since the Ryzen 9 5900HX is an APU, the IGP (integrated graphics processor) on the chip will rely on the bandwidth provided by the system DRAM and so the S500+ promises to support high-speed DDR4-3200 and LPDDR4-4266 memory with a capacity of up to 64GB.

For storage, there apparently will be place for both a 2.5" SATA HDD/SSD as well as an M.2 2280 NVMe slot. With so much stuff crammed in, cooling a mini PC can be challenging sometimes but Morefine says that its S500+ model is cooled internally by a pure copper silent cooler and the chassis can dissipate heat from three sides.

Connectivity-wise there seemingly are plenty of options that the S500+ will have as you can see from the render of the alleged final product in the topmost image. As such, there will be two USB 3.2, four USB 2.0, and a single USB-C port. It will also apparently have a Bluetooth 5.0 capable module alongside a WiFi 6.0 module on the motherboard. And for those who would prefer wired internet connectivity, the S500+ promises to have two RJ45 Ethernet ports.

For display, the mini PC will purportedly have one output each for an HDMI and a DisplayPort that will be capable of delivering 4K 60Hz output. With all that said, Morefine hasn"t disclosed what this PC could cost buyers. But since the current S500 is listed for a price of $799, the succeeding S500+ may likely be similarly priced too.

While we are on the topic of mini PCs, a more-well known MINISFORUM has also teased its own Ryzen 5000-based mini PC today. The company posted a picture of the motherboard of the upcoming product on its official Twitter handle.

The new MINISFORUM PC will apparently sport a new design and it will also be powered by an AMD Ryzen 9 5900HX mobile APU (via VideoCardz).
