This next week in the game world has not one but two big sports games due for release. Electronic Arts will release FIFA Soccer 12, the next game in its mega-selling sports title, this week for pretty much every gaming platform (including the PS2). Meanwhile Konami will release its own rival game, Pro Evolution Soccer 2012, for the PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 platforms this week as well.
Another game due out this week is X-Men Destiny, the latest game featuring Marvel"s mutant super heroes from publisher Activision. The PS3-Xbox 360-Wii-DS game is an action-RPG where the player controls some new mutant characters and has to choose to follow the good guys (the X-Men) or the bad guys (the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants). It"s being developed by Silicon Knights in its first game since the Xbox 360 exclusive Too Human was released in 2008.
PC gamers will be able to purchase and download a number of new games this week. That includes the sci-fi first person shooter-RTS hybrid Nuclear Dawn, the fantasy turn-based strategy game A Game of Thrones: Genesis (based on the George R. R. Martin novel), the fantasy RPG sequel Dungeons: The Dark Lord, and The Binding of Isaac, the indie game from one-half of the development team behind Super Meat Boy. In addition PC gamers finally get access to its own version of Driver: San Francisco.
Xbox 360 and PS3 owners will be able to download Resident Evil Code Veronica X HD this week. It"s a graphical revamp of Capcom"s 2000-released action game. PS3 owners finally get their version of the arcade shooter game Child of Eden, released for the Xbox 360 earlier this year. Finally, PS3 owners get the The Ico and Shadow of the Colossus Collection this week, with HD updates of two classic games made originally for the PS2 console.
