Those in Canada can now preorder Google Home

Although Google Home was launched towards the end of last year, at the time, it was only available to those in the United States. Luckily, Google has been slowly expanding availability, with the device making its debut in April to those in the UK and now being made available for preorder in Canada.

Home is powered by Google Assistant, a digital assistant that was launched over a year ago. It can answer simple queries, but also offers a bit more by being contextually aware. Rather than having to ask single line questions, users can ask the Assistant with follow-up questions without the need to refer to the subject from the previous query.

At its annual I/O developer conference, Google announced that it would be making the device available in more countries over the coming months. This includes France, Japan, Australia, Germany, and others. In addition, to wider availability, the firm also stated that it would be expanding the language capabilities of the unit by introducing French, German, Brazilian Portuguese, and Japanese this summer. Google also plans to add support for Italian, Spanish, and Korean by the end of the year.

Google Home will be available for purchase at $179 CAD, and according to Best Buy"s preorder page, will arrive on June 26. Google"s Store page does not have a date listed, but references a shipping time of two to three weeks.
