Today at E3, Ubisoft announced that they have begun development of the next Splinter Cell title “Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Blacklist”.
The game, which is due for release in spring 2013, is to see modern-day special-ops based storyline which Ubisoft say will bring a “new level of technical innovation and quality”. Blacklist has been announced for PC, Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3 but will have special Kinect features such as voice recognition.
Blacklist will have a whole load of new gadgets and “reinvented” weapons, while a new “Killing-in-motion” fighting system is set to allow players to take out a host of enemies in one motion.
“Ubisoft Toronto has taken great care to develop an evolutionary Sam Fisher experience that takes the franchise to dramatic new heights,” said Maxime Beland, creative director at Ubisoft. “With exciting gameplay enhanced by full motion-capture performances, Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Blacklist offers a highly cinematic experience that will immerse fans and gamers new to the series in an intricate, action-packed adventure.”
As usual you will take the role of Sam Fisher from the previous games and will once more infiltrate terrorist organizations. New to the series is a strategic mission interface that is set to show global events off in real time to add a more unique feel to the title.
