2+ years, 15MM users in UK, teams in 6 EU countries, excited to return to HQ and home. Proud to hand off to incredible European leadership!

Twitter might be one of the biggest social networks in the world, but the employees behind its success aren’t instantly recognisable; the news that Twitter’s former UK general manager Tony Wang is leaving the position therefore slipped by with little attention.
Wang moved to London in 2011 with the intent of growing Twitter’s European support team, though in recent months has been more famed for his apology to women attacked by anonymous users on the site. The BBC cites Wang as calling the abuse “unacceptable”, receiving praise from victimised parties for acknowledging the wrongs and attempting to put them right.
Wang has been replaced by Bruce Daisley; formerly a director of sales at YouTube.
The Telegraph also reports a number of other hires, including The Guardian"s Joanna Geary. At the time of writing her Twitter bio makes no mention of this change, so it could still be considered unconfirmed.
