Like many other manufacturers, Toshiba has been reaping the rewards of offering low-cost Windows devices, having launched an ultra-affordable 7-inch Windows 8.1 tablet for just $119 earlier this year. Next from Toshiba comes the Satellite Radius 11, a Windows 8.1 convertible that combines a traditional notebook form factor with a 360-degree hinge.
The hinge is similar to that of Lenovo"s Yoga range, and allows the display to fold over through 360 degrees, allowing for a variety of configurations, including the ability to use it in "tablet mode". Although, given that the device weighs in at close to three pounds, we imagine you probably won"t be holding it in one hand for very long.
Key specs of the Satellite Radius 11 include:
- 11.6-inch HD TruBrite touchscreen display (exact resolution not provided)
- "The latest Intel Pentium or Celeron processor" (more specific information not provided)
- Up to 4GB RAM
- 500GB HDD or 32GB SSD
- HD webcam
- One USB 3.0 + one USB 2.0
- HDMI port
- SD card slot
The price of the device is $329.99, and it will be available to purchase from October 26 - although we imagine you"ll want to know a few more specifics about its spec sheet before swiping your credit card.
