Turtles in Time remake releasing on XBLA

According to a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fan blog, Ninja-Pizza, a new TMNT game was shown last week in New York. It was a remake of the classic arcade/SNES title "Turtles in Time" released in 1992.

The remake has been announced for Xbox Live Arcade so far with a possibility of releasing on WiiWare also. There"s no announcement who will be publishing the title so far or how much it"ll cost, but a 2009 release date is confirmed.

  • The game is set up and directly taken from TMNT Turtles in Time.
  • Right now it"s only going to be for Xbox Live, but they"re working on bringing it to Wii
  • It has the same music as the old game.
  • Only the levels "Alleycat Blues" and "Skull and Crossbones" were playable.
  • The only noticable difference was the bosses for "Skull and Crossbones" are Tokka and Rahzar (unlike the original, which had Bebop and Rocksteady).
  • For Alleycat Blues the boss is still Metalhead.
  • The game is basically Turtles in Time with new graphics.
In Turtles in Time, the group"s enemy Krang and Shredder steal the Statue of Liberty. The turtles give chase through the streets of New York and the sewers. Shredder then uses a time warp and sends them back in time and into the future where they must fight the Foot to get back home.
