Amazon-owned Twitch is the world’s leading social video platform and community for gamers. Today, the platform has announced its biggest event to date: TwitchCon 2015. The convention - based solely on Twitch - will allow gamers to discuss matters relating to sharing gameplay and gaming footage. The event is slated for late September and is likely to entice a wide variety of gamers.
Announced today on Twitch Weekly, the TwitchCon will be a two-day event which will take place over two days at the Moscone West Convention Center in San Francisco. Emmett Shear, CEO, Twitch states:
Twitch broadcasters have the most passionate fans, so we want to create an amazing experience where they can come together in person. TwitchCon will be an opportunity for the entire community – broadcasters, game developers, viewers, and us – to play and learn together.
Nothing more has been revealed by the company except a "Save the date" notification so far, but Twitch has urged people to follow the event"s official twitter handle (@TwitchConSF) and their website. The website does allow users to sign up for updates via email addresses. The TwitchCon event is being co-produced by Twitch and ReedPOP, the largest producer of pop culture events in the world.
