One week ago, the long awaited official Twitter app for Windows 8 and RT finally appeared for download in the Windows Store after months of waiting. Today, people who downloaded the app noticed an update was already available for the Modern UI app.
However, the Windows Store listing for the Twitter app did not list any change notes for the update. Neowin contacted Twitter for more information and was told by a spokesperson, "This was just a minor update that added some bug fixes." The spokesperson did not go into any specifics on what was fixed in this new version. By the way, the Twitter Windows 8 app has proven to be highly popular. After just one week, it is now the eighth most popular free app in the Windows Store.
Another popular free Windows 8 app received a minor update today. The Fresh Paint app from Microsoft has a new version available for download, with the change notes stating that it now has some unnamed bug fixes and some localization updates. We recently reported that Microsoft is looking to hire people to work on a major update for Fresh Paint for Windows Blue along with a port for Windows Phone 8.
