Twitter, Comcast team up to let you watch live TV shows from tweets

Twitter and Comcast have teamed up to bring a unique new feature to Twitter called "See it." In certain tweets regarding specific television shows, a new "See it" button will appear embedded at the bottom that will allow viewers to watch it on their television or mobile device, record it, set a reminder to watch it later, or buy tickets through Fandango.

For now, the partnership is only with NBCUniversal, which means the button will only show up on tweets for shows on networks owned by the company. Additionally, Twitter has teamed up with Comcast; the functionality to watch, record, and remind, will only work if you are an Xfinity subscriber.

Hopefully compatibility will expand in the future but NBCUniversal and Xfinity are certainly getting good publicity out of it for the time being. NBCUniversal could potentially get more viewers to its shows and it"s even possible that Twitter fans might be more inclined to switch to Xfinity TV because of the convenient integration. Twitter gets to position itself as a unique and flexible advertiser as well.

The Voice, The Blacklist, Chicago Fire, The Michael J. Fox Show, Sunday Night Football, Access Hollywood, NHL, Premier League Soccer, Sochi Olympics, Today Show, Psych, and Suits will all support the "See it" button from the get-go.

"See it" will begin to roll out on Twitter in November.
