If you like to "tweet" on your iPhone or Android OS-based smartphone, then accessing and using the Twitter web page will be a better experience for most of you soon. The official Twitter blog site has announced that it has launched a new version of the web messaging site and social networking system that is designed to work better with phones and other mobile devices.
Even if you have a Twitter app for your phone, the new Twitter.com mobile phone site has been made specifically "to provide a high-quality and consistent Twitter experience on high-end touchscreen device." The blog site adds that the new mobile themed web page has "the features you’d expect from a Twitter application, including your timeline, @mentions, messages that you can read in conversation view, search, trending topics, lists, and more." It"s also designed to be fast with the blog site stating, "... you can quickly scroll through your timeline, move between tabs and compose Tweets." If you have a portable device like a tablet that has a larger screen the blog site says that the new mobile site was made for such devices that have web browsers with HTML5 features.
The new mobile version of the Twitter.com web site is currently being rolled out in stages. The Twitter blog site says that at the moment just a small amount of iPhone, iPod Touch and Android-based users can access the new version of the site but that more and more users will gain access to it in the coming weeks. The current mobile version of Twitter.com is still able to be reached and used by mobile phone users.
