Twitter has launched a new feature on its platform called Topics. With Topics, users can follow things that interest them and get the top tweets pertaining to that subject. The firm said that in the coming months, you’ll be able to follow topics right from the timeline and search based on what you look for or follow on the network.
Twitter is probably one of the best ways to keep up with all the latest developments, all you have to do is use the search and figure out which hashtags are being used for an event you’re interested in. With Topics, Twitter makes following certain events a lot easier without users needing to use the search function as much.
Hot takes? Always. Hot topics? Brand new.

Discussing the feature in its blog post, Twitter said:
“When you choose to follow a topic – whether it’s your favorite band, sports team or celebrity – you’ll see Tweets from a whole host of accounts that are experts, fans or just tend to talk about that thing a lot on Twitter.”
With the amount of fake news swirling around the net, Topics is a nice addition because it only curates content from the most trusted sources. Unfortunately, the subject area where fake news is most prevalent is politics and according to an earlier report by The Verge, political subjects will not be included in the new Topics feature.
