Twitter still won't let you edit tweets, but it may let you write longform articles

Over the past few months, Twitter has gone through a variety of changes, both through its Blue subscription as well as the regular, free version. However, one feature that continues to remain elusive is the ability to edit tweets. If you thought that implementing it was the natural next step for the microblogging website, you"d be sorely mistaken.

As reported by credible leaker Jane Manchun Wong - who is known for reverse-engineering Twitter code to figure out what the company is working on next -, it appears that you will soon be able to write longform articles on the platform. A screenshot of one of the user interfaces for the Twitter Articles section can be seen below:

It"s not clear what the use-case for this is, considering that the platform was initially known for its 140-character limit on textual content, but it seems like the company wants to go in the direction of LinkedIn articles which people write for longform content.

Furthermore, it"s not known yet when or if Twitter Articles will see the light of day and whether the ability to create them will be available to only those who have a Blue subscription or everyone. We"ll likely find out more in the coming weeks.
