Twitter has been working to continue improving its social media platform, and the micro-blogging site most recently introduced a new feature it initially called “Save for Later” to help you review a particular tweet later. Tina Koyama, a product designer at Twitter, has just revealed in a tweet that the feature will be officially called “Bookmarks,” which is now going through the testing phase meant to polish its functionality.
The Bookmarks feature will be designed to allow you to flag tweets in your timeline so that you can keep them for later viewing. The goal of the tests is to try out the different designs Twitter has picked out for the feature, though it’s not immediately clear how long the experiment will end up taking and how many users are involved.
It also remains unclear in which specific area of the Twitter interface the Bookmarks function will sit. If it passes the testing stage, Bookmarks will be among recent changes to Twitter meant to improve the user experience. Earlier this month, the site also officially expanded the character limit in most languages excluding Korean, Japanese, and Chinese, from 140 to 280 after running a related test in September.
