Microsoft"s Bing search division is without two of its marketing team members, including Eric Hadley, who was until today the general manager of worldwide marketing for Bing. AdAge.com reports that Microsoft confirmed that both Hadley and Bing"s Brand Entertainment head Sean Carver were fired from the company.
According to Microsoft"s official statement:
We can confirm that as the result of an investigation, Eric Hadley and Sean Carver"s employment with Microsoft has been terminated for violation of company policies related to mismanagement of company assets and vendor procurement.
Hadley was also the general manager of marketing for Microsoft"s MSN service. Microsoft has not commented further on what Hadley or Carver are accused of doing and there"s no word if the company plans to file any criminal charges against the two men. So far, Hadley and Carver have yet to comment publicly on their firings.
Hadley had previously worked for Microsoft and then returned to the company to head up its MSN marketing business in 2009 after working at Yahoo. Business Insider reports that Bing team member Mike Nichols will take on Hadley and Carver"s responsibilities at Microsoft.
