The Uber Eats app has received a new feature that allows you to make search requests on the pick up map and it even includes support for emoji – if you feel like a burger, just pop the burger emoji in the search bar and all the eateries that sell burgers will be listed so you can stop by and grab your food.
The feature, which is available globally, will show you results on the map including their exact distance, this can be helpful if you’re in an unfamiliar area and want guidance to your destination. Additionally, if you’re in a country that speaks a different language to you, the use of food emoji will help bridge the linguistic divide.
With Uber Eats pick up, customers just pay for the food they want and don’t need to splash out extra on the delivery. Ordering with Uber Eats pick up also means that customers can place their order in advance and fetch their food when it’s done - apparently, you can skip the queue too. There’s no shortage of businesses you can shop with on Uber Eats as the firm says there over 700,000 restaurants and merchants on its platform.
To begin using the new map, open the Uber app and go to the food section. If it’s on Delivery mode, press the button that says Delivery and change it to Pick up. Then, in the search bar, type whatever food you feel like to get your results.
