Originally planned for a March 2018 launch, The Crew 2 suffered a delay that pushed it to a June release. And now, with the game"s upcoming closed beta inching closer, Ubisoft has revealed the system requirements of the PC version as well as what platform-exclusive settings and features players can expect to find.
The PC version will bring support for ultra-wide and multi-monitor setups, 4K resolution, driving wheels, and auto-switching between control methods. There will also be extensive advanced video settings options.
As usual with recent Ubisoft games, The Crew 2"s system specifications are split into multiple categories that list the graphics settings and FPS players can expect to see on their hardware:
Minimum configuration – 30 FPS:
- Resolution: 1080p
- Video Preset: Low
- OS: Windows 7 SP1, Windows 8.1, Windows 10 (64-bit versions only)
- Processor: Intel Core i5-2400s @ 2.5 GHz or AMD FX-6100 @ 3.3 GHz or equivalent*
- Video card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 or AMD HD 7870 (2GB VRAM with Shader Model 5.0 or better)
- System RAM: 8GB
Recommended configuration – 30 FPS:
- Resolution: 1080p
- Video Preset: High
- OS: Windows 7 SP1, Windows 8.1, Windows 10 (64-bit versions only)
- Processor: Intel Core i5-3470 @ 3.2 GHz or AMD FX 6350 @ 3.9 GHz or equivalent*
- Video card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760 or AMD R9 270X (4GB / 2GB VRAM with Shader Model 5.0 or better)
- System RAM: 8GB
Recommended configuration – 60 FPS:
- Resolution: 1080p
- Video Preset: High
- OS: Windows 7 SP1, Windows 8.1, Windows 10 (64-bit versions only)
- Processor: Intel Core i5-4690k @ 3.5 GHz or AMD Ryzen 5 1600 @ 3.2 GHz or equivalent*
- Video card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 (6GB) or GTX 970 (4GB) or AMD RX 470 (4GB / 8GB VRAM with Shader Model 5.0 or better)
- System RAM: 8GB
*Please note that, in addition to being below minimum configuration, some processors may be incompatible with the game or some specific features as stated below:
Processors without SSE 4.X Instruction Set (deployed in 2006)
Processors without AVX Instruction Set
Also, graphics cards in or above the Nvidia GTX600 series or the AMD Radeon HD 7000 series are officially supported and shouldn"t have issues running the game.
Although the racing title has expanded its feature set to include boats and even airplanes, as mentioned before, support for various driving wheels will be available in addition to the usual keyboard and mouse as well as gamepads control methods. The Crew 2 is slated to launch on June 29 for PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. The closed beta sign-ups are now open on the official website, with the session set to kick off on May 31.
