New entries to the Far Cry and The Crew series were announced earlier this year, with both games slated for launch in early 2018. However, Ubisoft announced today that both Far Cry 5 and The Crew 2 have been delayed.
Instead of the original launch date of February 27, 2018 for Far Cry 5, it will now release on March 27, and the reasoning for the highly anticipated shooter"s delay was given as follows:
The extra time will allow the team at Ubisoft Montreal to make some additional improvements that will bring the best, most ambitious Far Cry experience in line with the team’s original vision. We’re excited for fans to join the Resistance in Hope County, Montana against the Project at Eden’s Gate cult.
Meanwhile, The Crew 2 will be missing its March 16, 2018 launch date, with it now arriving sometime during the first half of Ubisoft"s next fiscal year. The publisher did not go into specific dates on when can we expect the game, but did say the following:
The Crew 2 development team at Ivory Tower will use the next several months to perform additional playtests, gather player feedback, and continue working towards delivering an ambitious open-world racing experience that meets the team’s and our players’ expectations.
Both games are headed for the PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4, along with enhanced versions for the Xbox One X and the PlayStation 4 Pro.
