Ubisoft recently released its quarterly earnings report and discussed the games it"s planning on launching in the coming year. According to the company, it"ll release Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, Skull & Bones, and more titles between April 2022 and April 2023. However, that wasn"t all that was discussed during the call.
The head of Ubisoft, Yves Guillemot, said that the company is financially stable enough to remain independent, but any offer to acquire it would be reviewed. This seems like a standard answer from any company, but it"s interesting that he said that given the fact that Microsoft and Sony have been on a buying spree lately.

Ubisoft"s current market value is around $7 billion, but any offer would have to be much higher, maybe around 45% over the existing share price. That may take the final offer from a company like Microsoft to over $10 billion.
Many gaming industry insiders say that more acquisitions are on the way, but it"s unclear if they"ll involve Sony or Microsoft. There are many other companies out there so we"ll have to wait and see what happens. It"s definitely an interesting time to say the least.
