Chinese smartphone maker, UMi, has just launched one of the most affordable Android smartphones of 2015, the Rome. Despite the sub-$100 price tag, the phone - which is just 7.9mm-thick with an all metal body - features 3GB RAM, a 5.5-inch 720p (1280 x 720) AMOLED display and is powered by a 1.3GHz octa-core Cortex-A53. There is also a 2,500mAh battery, which is said to provide at least 24 hours’ worth of battery life.
Around the back of the Rome is a Sony IMX179 13MP rear camera with LED flash, with a 2MP selfie shooter up front. You"ll also get an LTE modem, dual-band Wi-Fi, and a Bluetooth 4.1 chip.
The Rome also provides dual-SIM capability as well as expandable microSD card storage of up to 128GB should you wish to expand upon the available 16GB of internal memory. The standby time of the device is 6-8 days according to UMi, and it comes preloaded with Android 5.1 Lollipop.
The Rome is available to purchase now for $89 (rather than its normal retail price of $119) in two colors: Champagne Gold and Shine Black. You can view the full specs of the phone on UMi"s website here.
