Unboxing the Acer Predator Helios 700 with slide-out keyboard, Core i9, and RTX 2080

Acer is no stranger to unique designs for gaming laptops, and the Predator Helios 700 is no different. It actually has a slide-out keyboard, as you can see from the image above. When you choose to slide out the keyboard, it allows for more air intake.

This PC has four different levels of overclocking, two of which are with the keyboard in its normal position, and two are for when it is slid out. Once you slide out the keyboard, it automatically overclocks the CPU and the GPU, and then you can hit the Turbo button to go full speed ahead. Hitting that Turbo button gets loud though.

The model that Acer sent me comes with an Intel Core i9-9980HK processor and an Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 GPU, along with 32GB of RAM. It"s completely specced out, and the retail price for this unit is $3,999, although you can get a lesser model for just over two grand.

For the display, it comes with a 17.3-inch FHD 144Hz screen, and this is a big machine. It weighs in at 10.8 pounds, and it"s over an inch and a half thick. Naturally, the large chassis allows for better airflow, and more power comes in larger packages.
