Unboxing the Lenovo Flex 5 14 with AMD Ryzen 4000 processors

Lenovo"s Flex 5 sits among its mainstream lineup, but what caught my eye about this laptop is that it"s now offered with AMD"s Ryzen 4000 processors. Yes, you have choices between Intel and AMD, and the model that Lenovo sent me includes the Ryzen 5 4500U.

Ryzen 4000 is built on a 7nm process, while Intel is still using 10nm and 14nm in ultrabooks. These new chips are no jokes, and I"m happy to say that early benchmarks are showing a lot of promise (you"ll have to come back for the full review for more on that). The Ryzen 5 4500U is a hexa-core CPU with six threads and integrated Radeon Graphics, and it"s meant to be on par with a Core i5.

On to the laptop itself, this thing comes in at $599, which is really impressive, especially with 16GB RAM. It"s also a convertible with pen support, and the pen is included in the box, something that you really don"t see much at this price point. All-in-all, the Flex 5 14 feels really impressive so far.
