For the past couple weeks, playing Fast RMX on the Nintendo Switch has been pretty fun. For those unfamiliar, it is a fast paced racing game similar to F-Zero. While you can get pretty far and play well with either of the standard Joy-Con controllers, there is always that underlying feeling that you could achieve a nicer experience if you had access to something better. Luckily, there is a $69.99 option in the form of the Switch Pro Controller.
The Switch Pro Controller looks and feels like a traditional controller and offers a completely different way to experience Switch titles. From its looks alone, it seems like a fairly solid piece of equipment. In reality, though it does feel sturdy thanks to its hefty weight, it is mostly made of plastic. Now there is nothing wrong with plastic, but when you are dealing with a controller, you might expect a material that provides a bit more grip, especially around the handle areas. But with the Pro Controller, this is not the case. In fact, the only part that feels "grippy" is the analog joysticks, but even those are fairly firm to the touch.
This is honestly just an initial impression of the controller while performing an unboxing, which can be seen in the video above. In the coming weeks, there will be a more in-depth look, once some quality time has been spent with the peripheral.
