Microsoft has revealed that it will need some more time to deliver the Universal Skype experience for Windows 10.
Skype on Windows 10 has been demonstrated by Microsoft on many occasions and it is set to integrate with messaging, phone and video apps when it launches. Back in July, the company announced that these Universal Apps will be launched for Windows 10 by the end of the summer, however, it has failed to meet its own launch target.
On contacting Microsoft about the delay, Brad Sams from Thurrott.com received the following statement:
“We want to make sure Skype built into Windows 10 is the best experience possible, so we’re taking some more time to make sure it’s ready for users. In the meantime, you can continue to use Skype for Windows desktop, Skype for Windows Phone and Skype for Web on Edge.”
While the existing apps for all the mentioned platforms have been working with Windows 10, they do not bring the integration that was promised with the new version, leaving users empty handed for a little while longer. The exact launch date hasn"t been disclosed by the company, but it might coincide with Microsoft"s upcoming product launch event in October.
