Unlocked OnePlus 8 Pro is not fully compatible with Verizon's network right now

Planing on buying the unlocked OnePlus 8 Pro to use on Verizon"s network in the US? You might want to reconsider that decision. Many users are reporting that the unlocked OnePlus 8 Pro is not compatible with Verizon"s network. The phone itself supports all the necessary bands, but Verizon does not recognize the device or its IMEI number. Users are able to use of mobile data on Verizon"s network but that"s about it, they are not able to make or receive calls or send/receive text messages.

Since the issue was reported, OnePlus has updated the specs page of the OnePlus 8 Pro to remove mentions of compatibility with Verizon"s network. OnePlus has confirmed to Android Police that as things stand right now, the OnePlus 8 Pro is indeed not fully compatible with Verizon"s network. This is because the company still needs to submit more information to Verizon. Seemingly, OnePlus has not handed over a list of IMEIs for the unlocked OnePlus 8 Pro to Verizon which the latter needs to whitelist for the devices to work on its network.

In its statement, OnePlus notes that the entire OnePlus 8 series will not be compatible with Verizon until at least June. The Verizon-branded version of the OnePlus 8, however, will not suffer from any such issues and will be compatible with the Big Red network out of the box. The OnePlus 8 5G for Verizon goes on sale later this week.
