Apple released iOS 7 in September and despite a lock screen exploit that was quickly closed with a patch, there hasn"t been any recent jailbreaks released for the mobile OS. That changed early on Sunday morning when the well know Evad3rs hacker team released their latest version of evasi0n. This new build, called evasi0n7, is supposed to work on all versions of iOS 7 released to date.
The program itself runs on both Windows and Mac and allows users of iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch products to gain deeper access to the OS, mostly to run apps that are not distributed by Apple via official channels. That includes Cydia and apparently the creator of that program, Jay Freeman, was surprised at the sudden release of the jailbreak program, at least according to his Twitter messages:
I thereby have no clue what will or will not work, or even what evasi0n7 includes; I hope that people bear with me as I figure this all out.

As with any jailbreak program, running this software is not recommended for the casual owner of Apple"s mobile products. It could affect a device"s battery life, security set ups and much more so people who install evasi0n7 do so at their own risk.
