Carpool Karaoke has become a massive success over the past couple of years. The segment is part of The Late Late Show with James Corden and features various musical artists that join the host on a joy ride around the city while singing hit tunes. As part of Apple"s plans to secure original content for its streaming service, the firm bought the exclusive rights to Carpool Karaoke: The Series towards the middle of last year.
Apparently, the show"s release has now been delayed. According to Reuters, a source stated that they are excited about Carpool Karaoke: The Series making its debut on Apple Music, and "look forward to everyone seeing it later this year". Although Corden"s name will be attached to the Apple Music series, it will only be as an executive producer credit of the show. He will continue to host the segment on his own late night show.
Apple has yet to announce who will be hosting, but when it makes it debut, there will be 16 brand new episodes. Along with Carpool Karaoke: The Series, the company is also developing an unscripted reality series called Planet of the Apps.
