After being delayed, Android Wear 2.0 finally launched today alongside two new wearables from LG, the LG Watch Style and Watch Sport. While a variety of carriers will offer the LTE-enabled Watch Sport, Verizon will also offer an exclusive Android Wear 2.0 smartwatch, the Wear24.
Not much information is available about the Wear24, but it claims to offer a consistent connection that is packaged in a "slim and modern design". As mentioned previously, the smartwatch will offer Google"s recently announced Android Wear 2.0 and will have the ability to make / receive calls and text without it being tethered to a handset.
Verizon also boasts that the wearable will be aware of your surroundings, being able to change information displayed on the watch face automatically based on your location, if desired. Those that partake in outdoor activities will be happy to know that the Wear24 will feature water resistance and can be submerged in water up to 3.3 feet for up to 30 minutes. The wearable will make its way to Verizon stores and its website in March and will be available for $299.99 with a two-year activation.
