Oh boy, Vertu is at it again with their ridiculously expensive luxury smartphones, releasing a new Android device today called the Ti. It looks absolutely atrocious, it contains fairly mediocre specs for the price and comes with a reasonably old version of Android (4.0), however the company"s head of design Hutch Hutchinson says this doesn"t really matter as the phone is about "relevant technology and craftsmanship".
For the few people considering this phone, it comes packed with a 3.7-inch 480 x 800 display protected by a sheet of sapphire crystal (Vertu claims this is four times tougher than other smartphones), a 1.7 GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor, 1 GB of RAM, 64 GB of storage, an 8-megapixel rear camera plus 1.3 MP front camera, and sound "tuned in collaboration with Bang & Olufsen".
All of this is protected by a "grade 5" titanium case that delivers "strength, low weight and elegance", and 184 parts of the Vertu Ti are hand-made in England. It also comes with Vertu"s Concierge service, which at the touch of a button will attempt to "fulfill every request" including accessing money-can"t-buy events. Too bad all this luxury and "design" will set you back at least $10,000, otherwise we might have been able to recommend it.
